Distribution boards

Distribution boards take power from the main or sub-switchboard and feed the final circuits on each floor, area or production line.

Typical applications

  • Factory floors and production areas
  • Office and commercial floors
  • Warehouses and logistics facilities
  • Public and institutional buildings

Engineering and customisation options

  • Wall-mounted or floor-standing enclosures
  • MCB, MCCB and RCCB arrangements to your circuit schedule
  • Sub-metering where required
  • Labelling and circuit charts to your standard
  • Indoor or weatherproof designs to suit the installation site
  • A choice of forms of separation (Form segregation ratings) to your specification

Standards and certification

Built to IEC 61439 where your specification requires it. Our ASTA type certificates cover 2000A, 3200A and 4000A assemblies; ask us which tested design applies to your board.

How it is built and tested

  1. Design and drawings. We review your single-line diagram and specification, then issue general arrangement and wiring drawings for approval.
  2. Sheet metal fabrication. Enclosures are laser-cut, sheared and bent in-house, so we control dimensions and lead time.
  3. Powder coating. Enclosures are powder coated in our own spray booth for a durable, even finish.
  4. Assembly and wiring. Busbars, breakers, metering and control wiring are assembled to the approved drawings.
  5. Testing and inspection. Boards are inspected and tested before they leave the factory, then commissioned on site.
